Dr. Araujo has extensive clinical experience in interventional spine care, spinal cord stimulator implantation, radiofrequency ablation techniques and chronic pain management of multiple disorders. He is a board certified anesthesiologist and is board eligible in pain management.

Dr. Araujo was raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and received his medical degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. While there, he had additional clinical and research training in rheumatology during his internship, and he completed an anesthesiology residency. He then relocated to the United States, where he completed a residency and a fellowship in pain management at Harvard Medical School - Brigham and Women's Hospital.

After years of training, he continued to gain experience in interventional spine care by heading two pain management centers in Iowa. He has a special interest in neuropathic pain and neuromodulation.

Hobbies/Special Interests:

Dr. Araujo enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Flavia, and his two beautiful daughters, Hannah and Palloma. He is a black belt in karate and taekwondo, and he enjoys sailing, racquetball and soccer.
