Quote:

"In pain medicine, it is important to treat the whole person. I am very dedicated to considering the many interventions available to support an effective pain management plan."

Profile/Bio:

Sarah Arvelo, APNP, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native, attended Alverno College in Milwaukee for both her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing. Sarah worked as a pediatric nurse for 13 years, providing care to patients with acute injuries, as well as to those with chronic, painful diseases. She also spent time teaching undergraduate nursing students at her alma mater.

Sarah understands that although pain is often a symptom or a side effect of disease, it often interrupts and affects life more than the disease itself. "The effect on quality of life can stop people from doing what they love or being with who they love," she says. Seeing the damaging psychological effects of uncontrolled pain among her patient population led her to APM, where she?s committed to utilizing all available interventions in order to treat the whole person.
